A compact web installer for Studio 21.1.1. The full application package is downloaded during setup.

This independent wrapper installs the Studio package and then applies third-party DLL replacements.

Both buttons download the same independent Studio web installer for Windows x64. Studio is a separate paid edition; downloading an installer does not provide a license. View Studio options.

What Happens During Setup

Download, installation and file changes
  1. The web installer requests administrator access and checks available space on the temporary-file drive.
  2. It uses a PowerShell helper to request a download link from Blackmagic Design with prefilled registration data, then downloads and extracts the Studio package.
  3. It launches the official Blackmagic Design installer and waits for it to finish.
  4. In the installed Resolve folder, it creates intl-8_original.dll from intl-8.dll if that backup does not already exist.
  5. It downloads replacement intl-8.dll and BMDDavUI.dll files, plus Patches.txt, from a third-party CDN. These replacements modify the installed application; BMDDavUI.dll is replaced without a backup.
  6. It removes the downloaded archive and extracted setup files when the process completes. Resolve is not automatically launched.

The web installer does not verify downloaded files against a publisher signature or expected checksum. Its behavior is described from the installation script; the replacement DLLs have not been independently verified.

Back up existing Resolve projects and media. Check the official Studio 21.1.1 requirements and release notes for your Windows system.

An internet connection is required for the full package and additional files. The web installer requires approximately 22 GB free on the temporary-file drive and displays a warning below approximately 33 GB.
